For club rugby

You need fifteen, and three of them have to be front row.

Find out who's free in time to cover the scrum, name the fifteen with every position, and keep the season's tries and points on every player's record.

Everything in Pro for 14 days. No card needed. Runs in any browser, phone included.

From loosehead prop to fullback.

Rugby numbers its players one to fifteen and gives every shirt a job. benchli's rugby team lists all fifteen, and the replacements behind them.

Who's free?

Yes, maybe or no from every player, so you know by midweek whether the front row is covered.

The fifteen

Eight forwards, from loosehead prop to number 8, then seven backs, from scrum-half to fullback. The fly-half sits with the backs.

The bench

A match squad of up to 23: the fifteen who start and up to eight replacements.

The result

Points for each side, then each player's tries, kicks and tackles. A draw goes in as a draw.

Tries, kicks and tackles, in the groups a rugby scorer looks for.

Seventeen stats in six groups on every player's record. Points are added up for you: five for a try, two for a conversion, three for a penalty goal or a drop goal.

A hat-trick of tries deserves a record.

When milestones go live, the club will hear about it after the game and it will stay on your card. Rugby moments, from a try bonus to a full house.

The rugby notebook

Fifteen positions, not a squad list.

Rugby has a front row, a pack and a back line, and none of it fits a list that treats every player alike. What's in, and what we haven't got to.

Already in the fifteen

  • All fifteen positions, from loosehead prop to fullback, so a lineup reads like a team sheet.
  • A squad of up to 23 with up to eight replacements, the size the Laws and Swiss Rugby's match-day rule allow.
  • Points added up for you, so the goal-kicker's season shows next to the winger's.
  • Kicking success worked out from goals over kicks at goal, so a kicker's season reads as a percentage.
  • A breakdown group of its own for rucks hit and rucks won, because they are neither attack nor defence.
  • Draws recorded as real results, because rugby has them.
  • Stat names in German, French and Italian too: Versuche, essais, mete.

Still to be picked

  • Bonus points in the league table, for four tries and for a close loss.
  • A top points scorer on the team page, next to tries, tackles and conversions.
  • Lineout and scrum success.
  • Missed tackles and penalties conceded.
  • Sevens and tens game lengths.
  • A front-row cover check when you name the squad.

Common questions

Is benchli a live scoring app?

No. There is no match clock and no phase-by-phase log. benchli keeps the result and each player's totals, and runs everything around the game: who's available, who plays where, and the fixtures.

How many players can we name?

A match squad of up to 23: fifteen to start and up to eight replacements, each with a position.

Does benchli check front-row cover?

Not yet. Swiss Rugby's rules ask for front-row cover as a squad grows, and benchli doesn't check it when you name the side, so the props and the hooker are still yours to count.

Does the league table give bonus points?

Not yet. The table scores a win, a draw and a loss, with no try bonus and no losing bonus. Swiss Rugby tables use both, so check the official table for the standings that count.

Can we record sevens or tens?

A game is set up as fifteen-a-side, two halves of forty. Sevens and tens game lengths aren't built in yet.

Can we record a draw?

Yes. A draw goes in as a draw and counts as one in your record.
