Win three sets and the match is yours.
benchli keeps score the way volleyball does, in sets, and knows a side needs six on court.
Five sets at most, and you only need three.
Sets one to four
First to 25 points, and two clear. At 24-24 play goes on until one side leads by two.
The deciding fifth
At two sets each, a short one: first to 15, two clear.
Enter the sets
A result goes in as sets won, 3-1 or 3-2. Type in a points total like 25-21 and benchli turns it back.
Six on court
A side with fewer than six loses the set. Know by midweek who can make it, so nobody is one short on the night.

Hitting percentage is worked out for you, from kills over attack attempts. A season's figure comes from the season's totals, not an average of match percentages.
Years of gym nights, and the only record of your best serve is your own say-so?
A ten-block night deserves a record.
When milestones go live, each one will be announced in the team feed after the match and stay on the player's profile. Volleyball moments of their own, plus a career kills ladder from 50 up to 1,000.

Counted in sets, not goals.
Set scores, positions, the libero and the stats a scorer looks for: what's covered, and what isn't.
Already in the rotation
- Results kept in sets. A 3-1 goes in as 3-1, and a points total like 25-21 is turned back before it is saved.
- No draws. A level count such as 2-2 isn't accepted as a final result, because a volleyball match always has a winner.
- The roles volleyball names, to pick from when you name the squad: setter, opposite hitter, outside hitter, middle blocker and libero.
- A squad of up to 14, the most Swiss Volley and FIVB allow on a match sheet.
- Stats grouped the way a scorer reads the sheet: attack, serving, reception, defence and blocking.
- Hitting percentage worked out for you from kills and attack attempts, and a season or career figure that comes from the totals, so one hot night can't distort it.
- A season that starts in September, so a player's season record turns over then, not on 1 January.
Still in warm-up
- Points for each set, like 25-21 and 25-18, so set ratio and point ratio can be worked out. They are the tie-breaks a Swiss Volley table uses after points and wins, and a forfeit booked as 3-0 needs them too.
- The Swiss Volley table: 3 points for a 3-0 or 3-1 win, 2 for 3-2, 1 for a 2-3 loss. benchli's team standings give 2 points for a win and none for a loss.
- Best-of-three leagues and youth formats, such as under-14s playing four against four.
- Set assists, so the setter has something to record and double-doubles can count.
- Attack errors and reception errors, so hitting percentage can count misses the way a scorer's does.
- Serve-by-serve records, which ace streaks, service runs and the reverse sweep need.
- Service errors, and solo versus assisted blocks.

Common questions
Do we enter the points in each set?
No. A result goes in as sets won, such as 3-1. Points for each set aren't recorded yet, so set ratio and point ratio stay on your scoresheet.
Is it best of five or best of three?
A match is built as best of five, first to three sets. A best-of-three result such as 2-0 can still be entered, but best-of-three leagues and youth formats aren't a setting yet.
Does it work out our league table?
Not the Swiss Volley way yet. benchli's team standings give 2 points for a win and none for a loss, so a 3-2 win counts the same as a 3-0 and a 2-3 loss earns nothing.
Does it know the libero rules?
The libero is a position you can name, next to setter, opposite hitter, outside hitter and middle blocker. benchli doesn't check rotation order or libero replacements. That stays with your referee and scorer.
Does it work for beach volleyball?
benchli's volleyball is the indoor game, six a side. Beach volleyball, played in pairs with its own rules, isn't a separate sport in benchli today.
Six on court, nobody short.
